Shen
Xiaonan along with fellow Chinese sculptor Zhang Yaxi and
French
sculptor Laury Dizengremel created the Tennis Terracotta Warriors
(Wanqiu Bingmayong) series of sculptures - sculpture commission by the
ATP / Tennis Master Cup Shanghai 2007.
These statues are monumental, standing at an average of 2m20 in height.

Tank Loft Contemporary Arts Center where we created them in
our
studio, adjacent to the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in
Chongqing
Arranged
here in no particular order, the 8 top tennis players in the world who
qualified for the Tennis
Masters Cup Shanghai 2007, here all portrayed as Tennis Terracotta
Warriors:
(from left to right) Fernando Gonzalez, Richard Gasquet, Novak
Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Nikolay Davydenko,
and David Ferrer.
